Message from Our President
Attorney Karla Walker
Welcome to the Valdosta-Lowndes Metropolitan Section of the National Council of Negro Women!
As President of this incredible organization, I am honored and humbled to work alongside such a dynamic group of individuals who share a passion for empowering women, strengthening families, and uplifting our communities. At NCNW, we strive to make a meaningful impact by addressing issues that matter most—health equity, economic empowerment, social justice, and education in S.T.E.A.M.
Every program we create, every partnership we form, and every life we touch reflects the heart of NCNW’s mission. Together, we are building a legacy of service and advocacy that will inspire future generations.
Whether you’re here to learn more about our work, connect with like-minded individuals, or find ways to get involved, know that you are welcome. We value your support and look forward to partnering with you to continue making a difference.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Let’s keep growing, giving, and thriving together!
With gratitude and service,
Attorney Karla Walker

Our Core Four Programs
1
Economic Empowerment & Entrepreneurship
We are committed to advancing financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and wealth-building opportunities. By providing tools, resources, and training, we help our communities achieve economic stability, grow businesses, and build generational wealth for a stronger future.
3
S.T.E.A.M. & Education
We encourage success in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics by providing access to mentorship, scholarships, and resources. Our programs aim to inspire young minds, particularly Black girls and women, to pursue careers in S.T.E.A.M. fields and become leaders in innovation and creativity.
2
Social Justice
We champion civic engagement and advocacy by ensuring our voices are heard. From voter registration drives to policy education, we promote equality, equity, and justice for all. We empower individuals to participate fully in the democratic process and fight for systemic change that benefits our families and communities.
4
Health Equity
We strive to improve access to quality healthcare and address the disparities that disproportionately impact Black women and families. Through education, awareness, and partnerships, we advocate for preventative care, mental health support, and equitable health outcomes for our communities.
