Sisters in Session: Board of Commissioners Meeting

Sisters in Session is our new initiative designed to increase the visibility, voice, and presence of Black women in local decision-making spaces — from city council and county commission meetings to school board sessions and other critical public forums.

Our mission is to ensure that Black women are informed, engaged, and represented where policies are being shaped. By consistently attending these meetings, we demonstrate leadership, gather key insights, and advocate for the well-being of our communities.

What It Involves:

As a member of NCNW, you are encouraged to:

• Attend public local government meetings: Including, but not limited to, City Council, County Commission, and School Board meetings

• Represent NCNW with professionalism
