NCNW Valdosta-Lowndes Metropolitan Section Hosts Interest Meeting to Welcome New Members and Expand Youth Group, Black Diamonds

Valdosta, GA – The Valdosta-Lowndes Metropolitan Section of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) is excited to host an Interest Meeting on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM at Big Nick’s Juke Joint, located at 1201 Baytree Rd, Valdosta, GA.

This event is open to individuals interested in learning more about NCNW, its mission, and how to get involved. Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the history and impact of NCNW

  • Meet Executive Board Members and Committee Chairs

  • Discover NCNW’s programs, events, and initiatives

  • Learn about volunteer and leadership opportunities

  • Ask questions and engage with current members

In addition to welcoming new members, the event will also serve as an opportunity to expand participation in NCNW’s youth group, the Black Diamonds, which provides mentorship, leadership development, educational programs, cultural experiences, and community service opportunities for young girls ages 12-18. Black Diamonds is an active part of NCNW Valdosta-Lowndes, and this meeting will allow youth and parents to learn more about the program and how to get involved.

"We are excited to welcome prospective members into our NCNW family and provide them with a deeper understanding of our organization’s impact," said Karla Walker, Section President. "This event is not just about joining, but about embracing a movement that uplifts, empowers, and strengthens our communities."
