Valdosta, GA – The Valdosta-Lowndes Metropolitan Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNW) will host its 11th Annual Bethune Leadership Recognition Banquet on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Valdosta State University, bringing together community changemakers, advocates, and distinguished guests for an inspiring evening of reflection and recognition.


In the spirit of NCNW’s legendary founder, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, the banquet celebrates individuals who lead with courage, compassion, and a commitment to uplifting others. The evening will feature a VIP reception, a plated dinner, and the presentation of the 2025 Bethune Leadership Awards.

 

The evening will feature keynote speaker Rev. Dr. Dorothea (Dee) Dawkins-Haigler, Nobel Peace Prize nominee, ordained minister, global advocate, and former Georgia State Representative. She is widely recognized for her work in public policy, civic leadership, and global empowerment training. Dr. Dawkins-Haigler is President of the Organization of World Leaders (OWL, Inc.), founder of TIME 1000 and DDH & Associates, and host of “The Wake Up with Dee” on WAOK News & Talk Atlanta. She is also a proud member of NCNW, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and other civic organizations.
